Slim-Hole Swage for 6"-10" Steel Casing

Slim-Hole Swage Tool
Through continued research and development, welenco, Inc., the leader in well-bore logging and repair services introduces a new casing repair tool shown to the right. After many years of successfully repairing thousands of wells with diameters from 10 through 20 inches, welenco introduces the world’s only hydraulic operated Slim-Hole Swage Tool. Designed to repair well casings as small as 6 inches, the tool can apply up to 200 tons of “lateral push”. After reforming the casing, small steel patches are seated against the pipe wall to complete the repair to the damaged area.

Lateral Movement Power Head
Along with the “Hydraulic Engine”, the heart of the Slim-Hole Swage Tool, is the uniquely designed Power Head. The movement of the Power Head ensures that maximum lateral force is applied; thereby providing a more uniform return to the original casing diameter. Some of the benefits of the system include:

• Lateral push of 6 - 10 inch casing

• Unique design provides a safety release

• Hydraulic action ensures maximum force

• Tapered wedge provides uniform force

Hydraulic Swaging Action
Supplying the hydraulic action to the tool, the surface power supply is attached to the down-hole tool through a reel of dual-tube high pressure hose. The Slim-Hole Swage Tool is lowered to depth on drill pipe or tubing. As the tool is inserted, the dual-tube hose attached to the top of the tool is strapped to the pipe. At depth, the surface power unit is activated and hydraulic pressure is applied down one line of the dual-tube hose. The jaws then extend laterally, applying up to 200 tons of force either to the damaged casing or to a special repair sleeve. When the surface control unit reaches a pre-determined operating pressure, hydraulic action is applied to the other line of the dual-tube hose retracting the jaws. The tool is then lowered and the action is repeated until the damage is repaired. When this new methodology is complimented with our 25 years of experience, your well can be returned to production without the need to drill a costly, new borehole.
